New patients are always welcome. 

New patients can download a health history form and demographics form to complete prior to their first visit.

Making and keeping appointments are an important part at our office. We make every attempt to see our patients on time. If you are unable to keep an appointment we ask that you call the office, giving as much notice as possible, so that we may offer that time to another patient who may be waiting for an appointment.

Patient Care
Our staff will provide a conservative approach to treatment of orthopaedic problems. A multi-disciplinary group of professionals will provide assistance with diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, injury prevention and education. When surgical intervention becomes necessary, our staff will instruct the patient and family in all phases of preoperative, intra-operative, and post-operative care. Prescriptions
Prescriptions and refills should be requested Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 3:30pm. Due to the large volume of work at the end of each day and the unavailability of patient records at night, on weekends and holidays, prescription refills will be given only on weekdays before 3:30pm. Test Results
Test results will be called to you within a timely manner after the doctor personally reviews the x-ray or laboratory study.

Washington County Hospital
Washington County Hospital is one of our nation's top 100 rated hospitals. It is a JCAHO accredited, 341-bed hospital located in Hagerstown, Maryland. It is the site of the Washington County Hospital Center for Total Join Replacement, which was founded in 1997 to provide excellence in the treatment of total joint replacements. The Center was founded by Drs. Altizer and Salvagno with a team from Washington County Hospital and consists of a special inpatient unit, a designated operating room team and a dedicated total joint nursing and therapy staff.

Robinwood Surgery Center
The Surgery Center is an accredited ambulatory surgery facility which provides a comfortable environment for outpatient surgical procedures. Robinwood Surgery Center is located just upstairs from our office for your convenience.

Joint Reunion
In 1996, the practice began the tradition of an annual celebration for all our total joint replacement patients. This reunion started at the office but quickly grew and had to move to a larger facility. This event gives our patients an opportunity to share their experiences and celebrate the fact that they can once again enjoy a full and active life.
