Ride for Isaiah
Wow, 75 miles for a few novice bike riders and 33 miles for the beginners! The
ride was Memorial Day weekend on The Great Allegheny Passage starting at Ohiopyle,
PA and finishing in Cumberland, MD. It was a great time and more
importantly for a great cause. We are an office who loves to help and God gave
us a family from Hagerstown, Maryland with a courageous young son named Isaiah.
He was diagnosed with Leukemia at three years of age and continues to battle
the side effects that keep him in and out of the hospital. Through the ride, we
were able to raise $1,400.00 to assist this family financially so they are able
to focus on caring for Isaiah and their other children. Please continue to keep
Isaiah and his family in your prayers. |

Help for Haiti Continues
It pays to have connections—or at least a well-connected parish member. Ron Spruill, an orthopaedic physician’s assistant, heard his pastor’s plea for medical help in Haiti. The pastor, who lived in the country for eight years, was part of Project Help Haiti and understood the magnitude of the situation. The following day Ron approached his friend and orthopaedic surgeon Ralph Salvagno, MD. “I tossed and turned the night before whether to ask Ralph to go,” says Spruill. “But when an opportunity is dumped in your lap, you gave to grab it.” When Ron asked the question, Dr. Salvagno responded with an immediate yes. Through a series of chain reactions, Dr. Salvagno, Ron Spruill, Richard Milford, MD, and Jim Roupe, CRNA, were on their way to earthquake-ravaged Haiti.
