"Rise Up" Sculpture Featured in “Ironwork Today 4”

“Rise Up” by Scott Cawood

“Rise Up,” the dramatic, greater-than-life-sized sculpture of man, woman, and child displayed in the lobby of the Center for Joint Surgery, has been prominently featured in the new book “Ironwork Today 4”. This hardcover book, published by Schiffer Publishing, presents fascinating works by many of today’s top artist-blacksmiths.

Created by Scott Cawood of Sharpsburg, MD (, “Rise Up” was commissioned by Dr. Ralph and Tracy Salvagno as a means of recognizing the concept of the “art of medicine” and celebrating advances in orthopaedic surgery that restore function and quality of life.
